Redskins, if somehow these were made organic. 50-50 blueberries and raspberries in a blender, when you pull the lid off. The tartness of pomegranate when you break it open, perhaps some sour cherry if you look for it, maybe those redskins were soaked in sour cherry cola – yeah, that’s it. Super fun for a second, then an abrupt mood change. The palate has good depth with some subtle tannin and then acid to carry you through. Picture yourself sitting in the park, with just the right amount of sun on your back and then a cloud passes by; it arrives with fine, refreshing tannin and the change makes you think perhaps you should move – but then you take another sip and realise just how comfortable you are. Sit back, take another sip – there’re so much more to see from this spot.

Hand-picked in mid-March, one-quarter was left as whole bunch with the remaining de-stemmed only (whole berries). Cold soaked for a short period before ferment in small open fermenters with daily punch downs. Pressed to an old oak barrique mid-ferment. Later, racked to stainless for ageing, before hand-bottling in October 2020. Unfiltered and not fined, minimal sulphites.

This wine is an expression of our Faraday vineyard. Very little winemaking, raw and unadapted, this Pinot Noir speaks for the unique site in which the grapes are grown
